Since I was a child advent calendars have changed, evolved and basically gotten more expensive. I have chosen 5 different ones for different price points and different genres. I will still be filling up my children’s ones with chocolates but this is a small selection of the ones I liked on the market.
Duck Advent Calendar
I think this is hilarious, funny and ideal for so many ages and not just kids. Each day reveals a new rubber duck, some are the classic yellow, some are coloured, themed etc but I just thought this was a fun way to introduce advent calendars to younger children but I know a fair few adults that would love it too.

Clear Crystal Diamond Calendar
In my opinion this is definitely aimed at the older advent calendar users but it would also work perfectly for that teenager/not yet an adult stage too. It comes with a free Swarovski snowflake necklace and polishing cloth too. It has such a range of items included in it such as a charm bracelet & charms, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. It is a jewellery lovers dream in a box.

Harry Potter Kellica Advent Calendar
We previously reviewed the Kellica Harry Potter advent calendar last year and loved it. It is still available on their website to buy but they have brought out a new one for this year that I am really excited about it.
This years advent calendar comes in the form of a trunk and it is packed with items that any potter fan would love to take to Hogwarts. It once again includes two layers of numbered boxes filled with surprise accessories and jewellery. Some of the items are brand new to the store and not been seen before and some will fit nicely with last years items. I love the fact that this year they have included a special acceptance letter and if you open it you can discover an extra surprise inside.
The trunk itself is lovely and they have thought of everything with it right down to the vintage details and metal fittings, this trunk will not only been a great keepsake but it will help transport you into the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

Puzzle Advent Calendar
I saw these puzzle advent calendars everywhere last year and they have made a huge comeback this year and it keeps selling out before I can get my hands on one. I love a puzzle but never get time to do them so doing it little bit by little bit would be fab. Some of the ones I saw last year were mini puzzles a day but this one creates one big picture in the end and can be framed if you so desire.

Sweetzy Advent Calendar
90% of the population love sweets, be it a regular thing or a treat so this advent calendar is perfect. This would be ideal if the person doesn’t like chocolate enough to have one every day. This years advent calendar is improved from last year and each window has a 50g resealable pouch of sweets and the calendar contains 25 different sweets. This calendar will have a mixture of fizzy and fizzless sweets but there is just a fizzy calendar option too if you prefer. They have made the 50g bags Christmas inspired and they also have a Where’s Wally inspired game all over the advent calendar, including inside the doors. It is honestly so fun and something different for this years advent calendar. It is a pre-order they are expecting to dispatch end of October/ Start of November.
