Kid K’Nex [AD]

We were GIFTED a set of Kid K’nex for a review and I have to be honest I haven’t heard of Kid K’nex before only the slightly older version that is widely used. Ethan is slightly too old for Kid K’Nex so Nick’s nephew stepped in to trial it and at 4 years old he was a huge fan of the product. He wouldn’t pose for photos so I have taken some of the animals he made and some in progress shots.

The pieces are so easy for little hands and they are nice and flexible too so it isn’t hurting them when they are pushing pieces together. We found it a lot easier to take the pieces apart and put them back together than we thought we would and this is due to the slight flex that each piece has. The instructions for each animal are clear and easy to follow for the age group recommended (3 years plus).

In the kit “Safari Mates” there is 5 builds and 21 pieces which allows for the children to make their own models as well as the ones in the instructions. This kit includes a few extra parts such as a whipping tail, foam mane, paws and more to help bring your favourite animals to life! I love how adaptable K’Nex is and how it really is a toy that has stood the test of time as I remember playing with it over 20 years ago.

We all agreed that this kit is brilliant and that it would make a great gift for someone who loves to build but might need something some more flexible or not as complicated as some other branded sets. Kits like these are brilliant at helping kids learn to follow instructions, and work independently. I know a lot of pre school classes and KS1 classrooms use kits much like these as they help them work on their hand eye coordination.

This Safari Mates kit is a great introductory kit in order to test the waters or as a builder kit if the person has other Kid K’nex sets but either way you won’t be disappointed.

Where Can We Buy It?

You can purchase all the sets at Amazon but I have found this set for you at this link. It’s aimed at kids aged 3+ and is unisex.
