We visited Hatters Farm in Takeley, Essex last year and of course we were going to return this year and continue the family tradition. The ticket price again this year was the deciding factor over other locations but also because the kids are desperate to do the pumpkin cannon again and I don’t blame them.
We have of course made a YouTube video of our visit which will be live on the 1st Novemebr 2022. Check our instagram highlights for videos, and photos from the day as not everything can be put into the YT Video. If you saw us at the pumpkin patch please tag us in any of your photos.
As well as the pumpkin picking they have the Maize Maze again this year as well as the awesome Pumpkin Cannon which shoots onions and squash. These are extra to the ticket price but both are totally worth it. The entry to the Maize Maze is £3.00 per person (0-3 yr olds / non-walkers go free) or £10 per family and the cannon is £2.50 per go or 3 for £7. Honestly I would 100% say the cannons are a must, the maize maze is hit and miss depending how muddy it is and the age of the people you are with.
We had a brilliant time and would totally recommend it, we plan to go again next year and we might do the evening pumpkin nights as that looks so spooky but really cool. The whole day cost us around £30 as the kids wanted a go each on the pumpkin cannon, as well as waffles from waffle & co and of course the pumpkins. I don’t mind spending that little bit extra this year as the venue has expanded and made it bigger and better this year. We had the best 3 hours with the kids making lots of memories and they really enjoyed themselves, I am looking forward to next year when Ezra is walking.
In all honesty we had a brilliant time and would definitely say it’s a good morning / afternoon out if you are local but get in there early when booking tickets as the good slots go quickly!
